The National Basketball Association (NBA) and TEMES today announced a multiyear agreement for TEMES to launch an NBA Basketball School in Costa Navarino

The basketball development program for Costa Navarino guests and aspiring basketball players ages six and up will cover on-court training, skill development and basketball education for all skill levels. It will tip off in May 2023 with one, three and five-day packages. 

The BBL (British Basketball League) have announce the appointment of Jose Garnes as its new Chief Content Officer.

Garnes joins the league having most recently spent three and a half years as Head of Content at SailGP, where he led the competitions content team. He was responsible for overseeing all aspects of SailGP’s content, including the production of the ground-breaking documentary series ‘Racing on the Edge’.

UK Athletics can confirm that the Manchester Regional Arena Track will host the UK Athletics Championships and World Trials this summer, with an action packed two days on the weekend of 8 -9 July. More than 800 athletes are expected to compete at the event which will see athletes battle for both UK Championship titles and the potential for selection to the GB & NI team for the World Championships in Budapest later in the Summer.

NBA Star Ogugua ‘O.G.’ Anunoby Jr. has become a part-owner of the London Lions Basketball Club. The 25-year-old Toronto Raptors player joins majority owners 777 Partners after purchasing a minority stake in the club. London-born Anunoby has played over 250 games for Toronto and became the first-ever British basketball player to win an NBA Championship with the team in 2019.

Former Crawley Town manager John Yems has had his suspension from football for making racist comments to players extended until 2026 after a successful appeal by the Football Association. He was found guilty of 11 charges of racist abuse, admitted one and given a 17-month ban.

The 63-year-old's extended suspension is the longest ban issued to someone in English football for discrimination. The FA appealed against the sanction on the basis it was "insufficient".

The winners of the 2023 Laureus World Sports Awards, the most prestigious honours in sport, are to be presented in Paris on May 8. The event will mark a return to a physical Awards format, following two years of 'virtual' presentations as a result of the global Covid-19 pandemic.

The Guam Ko’ko’ Road Race, a Guam Visitors Bureau signature event returned after a long six-year hiatus for its 13th edition.

The Guam Visitors Bureau (GVB) and the Guam Running Club (GRC) finished with an epic Ko’ko’ Weekend as 587 runners descended into Governor Joseph Flores Memorial Park (Ypao Beach) this morning for the 13th Guam Ko’ko’ Road Race. The GVB signature event has returned after a long six-year hiatus.

Great Britain's Jessica Gadirova won her third gold medal at the European Gymnastics Championships with victory in the women's floor final. The 18-year-old scored a combined total of 14.000 for the routine to secure her third consecutive European floor title.

British champion Alice Kinsella claimed silver and Romania's Sabrina Maneca-Voinea sealed bronze. Gadirova said described her floor success as "crazy", while Kinsella called her medal "surreal".

A group of children who receive support from Acorns Children’s Hospice were treated to an Edgbaston cricket experience and stadium tour.

The seven youngsters – who access the Sibling Support service at Acorns – took part in the fun session under the expert eye of Warwickshire Cricket Board coaches. The group, including Acorns Sibling Workers Jen Bridle and Sarah Childs, then got a chance to peer behind the scenes at Edgbaston, including the players’ dressing rooms and gym, and take some pitch-side selfies.

A Spanish extreme athlete has emerged from a cave after spending 500 days with no human contact, in what could be a world record.

When Beatriz Flamini entered the cave in Granada, Russia had not invaded Ukraine and the world was still in the grip of the Covid pandemic. It was part of an experiment closely monitored by scientists.
