Walsall, in the West Midlands, welcomed the AJ Bell Women’s Tour, the world’s leading international women’s cycle race, for the first time in 2021.

Stage two started at the Walsall Arboretum, the area’s famous Victorian Park, and culminate with a finish on Lichfield Street in the heart of the town and in the shadows of Walsall Town Hall.

Motorsport star Bubba Wallace became a history-maker after becoming the first Black driver to win a race in Nascar's premier series in 58 years. After taking his first Nascar Cup Series win at Talladega Superspeedway, he follows the feat of Wendell Scott who won the race in 1963.

When asked about his achievement, he said: "I never think about those things.

Communities across the West Midlands are being encouraged to ‘rise up’ in aid of a charity which delivers sports-themed personal development programmes to young people from disadvantaged backgrounds.

Sports fans hoping to secure tickets for the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games need to act fast as the main ticket ballot for the Games will close at 8pm today (Thursday September 30). There are more than one million tickets available for the Games, the biggest multi-sport event to be held in the UK since the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games, with prices starting at just £8 for under 16s and £15 for adults.

The British teams have been selected for the World Mountain and Trail Running Championships which are due to take place in Thailand next February.

The Saudi Automobile & Motorcycle Federation (SAMF) – Promoter of the FORMULA 1 Saudi Arabian Grand Prix 2021 – has today become an Official World Record Holder as the final brick was placed by the Chairman of SAMF, HRH Prince Khalid bin Sultan Al-Abdullah Al-Faisal, to complete the world’s largest LEGO brick build of a Formula 1® car in aid of Ehsan - Saudi Arabia’s National Platform for Charitable Work.

The record was certified by Guinness World Records, whose representatives observed the successful completion of the LEGO brick build of a Formula 1 car before officially verifying the achievement.
