A public art project continues to engage viewers worldwide with a social justice message.

Houston hosted the latest street mural exhibition organised by Street Art for Mankind, a non-profit organisation in New York that has helped 80 international artists create human rights-themed murals and display them on busy pedestrian walkways in major cities.

A new Zulu king has been crowned at a historic event attended by thousands in South Africa's coastal city of Durban.

King Misuzulu ka Zwelithini was formally acknowledged as monarch by President Cyril Ramaphosa, who gave him a certificate of recognition. The ceremony was the first Zulu coronation since South Africa became a democracy in 1994.

A severe tropical storm has killed at least 45 people in the Philippines, unleashing floods and landslides in southern provinces, officials say. Storm Nalgae caused the most havoc in Maguindanao province, on Mindanao Island. There is extensive flooding in and around the city of Cotabato.

Nalgae is sweeping north, where the capital Manila expects torrential rain. Rescuers pulled many bodies from thick mud after landslides. The storm winds are gusting at up to 95km/h (59 mph).

This year's Dye & Durham Irish Law Awards winners have been revealed at a gala awards ceremony on the 28th of October in the Aviva Stadium, Dublin, hosted by Ivan Yates.

Barbados will install a new minister of tourism and international transport on Wednesday. More than 600 people have died in the worst flooding the West African nation has seen in a decade, with some 1.3 million people being displaced. More than 200,000 homes have been destroyed.

OPTrust released its enhanced climate change strategy. The strategy outlines how OPTrust will manage risks and opportunities from a transitioning economy and declares OPTrust's ambition to align its portfolio with the global path towards net-zero emissions by 2050.

When Lamiaa Salah told her parents she planned to leave her home in Asyut, Egypt, to pursue education and a career in Cairo, they did not want her to leave.

Salah says Egypt’s conservative society sometimes presents challenges to women who wish to find jobs, and that education and professional opportunities for women outside of Cairo may be limited.

Indian authorities have fined Google 13bn rupees ($161m; £144m) for using its Android platform to dominate the market. The country's competition regulator has accused the tech giant of entering into one-sided agreements with smartphone makers to ensure the dominance of its apps.

It has ordered Google to cease and desist from such practices. Google has not responded to the fine or the accusations yet.

For Teresa Ferreiro, re-entering the workforce after surviving cancer felt overwhelming. So Ferreiro, of A Coruña, Spain, founded the online platform Soul Reconnect to help other breast cancer patients and survivors navigate the frightening, often isolating, journey.

“If you don’t know how to go back to work, talk to others, or face your fears, then things can get very difficult,” said Ferreiro, who was diagnosed with breast cancer 12 years ago.
