The NHS Business Services Authority (NHSBSA) has been awarded the TIDE (Talent Inclusion and Diversity Evaluation) gold award by the Employers Network for Equality and Inclusion (enei) in recognition of its excellent work in fostering diversity and inclusion.

This is the fourth year in a row the NHSBSA has received a TIDE award, highlighting its outstanding progress and ongoing commitment to promoting equality. Michael Brodie, Chief Executive of the NHSBSA, said: "We’re absolutely delighted to receive this award for the fourth year in a row.

“We’re proud of our commitment to diversity and inclusion, and we’re honoured to be acknowledged as one of the most inclusive organisations in the UK. We continuously strive to make the NHSBSA the best place that any of us have worked.”

The NHSBSA has a Diversity and Inclusion (D&I) strategy in place, focusing on objectives that aim to create a truly inclusive organisation. The organisation has recently introduced the Reciprocal Mentoring for Inclusion programme, which pairs colleagues with specific lived experiences with a senior leader so that they can learn from each other's experiences and share knowledge and skills.

Additionally, the BAME Development programme provides support and training to colleagues to help maximise their potential. The Gold Standard is only awarded to the very top performing organisations in TIDE. This year, only 25 gold awards were given out of 185 entries.

Scoring is awarded through eight different sections: your workforce, strategy and plan, leadership and accountability, recruitment and attraction, training and development, other employment practices, communication and engagement, and procurement. The TIDE mark allows organisations to measure progress in equality, diversity and inclusion practices both year-on-year and in comparison, with their peers.
