UK Athletics can announce the Novuna Great Britain and Northern Ireland (GB & NI) team for the World Para Athletics Championships in Delhi, India, between 26 September and 5 October.

The athletes announced today will join those seven athletes selected earlier this year in June to make a full team of 37 for the upcoming Championships. The team features a wealth of experience and youth, heading out to Delhi later this year.

The performance aims are for athletes to medal at these championships and to support the athletes' potential for the LA 2028 Paralympic Games. The six-time World Champion Hollie Arnold will look to retain her F46 javelin title, as will three-time world champion Jonathan Broom-Edwards, in the T44 high jump.

The experienced eleven-time World medallist Sophie Hahn will look to compete across the T38 100m and 200m and be part of the universal relay team. The multiple Paralympic, World and European medallist, Dan Greaves, will compete in the F44 discus.

Nathan Maguire will compete across three distances: T54 1500m, 800m and 400m. The North West athlete has been dominant in the 400m, where he has raced a new personal best this year and will be keen to better his fourth place from the Paris Paralympic Games last summer.

Anna Nicholson (Richard Kaufman, Gateshead), who won bronze at the Paris Paralympic Games, will compete in the women's F35 shot put. Paris Paralympic bronze medallist Didi Okoh (Tony Hadley, Birchfield Harriers) will compete in the T63 100m.

Funmi Oduwaiye threw a new personal best in the discus at the weekend at the Novuna UK Athletics Championships. She will compete in both the F64 shot put and F44 discus.

Luke Nuttall opened his season with a good time of 3:59.65 at the Novuna London Athletics Meet in the T46 1500m. The two-time Paralympian is no stranger to performing on the big stage.

Seven athletes are making their senior international debuts. Bree Cronin season is building, throwing a new personal best in the F44 discus of 39.83 this year, securing her spot in the team.

19-year-old Amy Thompson will make her senior international debut at the age of 19. The Liverpool athlete has improved her personal best by half a metre this year in the women's F41 shot put. Scottish athlete Finlay Menzies ran a new personal best at the England Athletics Para Championships in July in the T72 100m, an event that will make its Paralympic debut in LA 2028.

Bebe Jackson will make her senior international debut. She made history becoming Team England's first ever medallist at the Commonwealth Youth Games, winning silver in the discus F42-44/F61-64 in Trinidad and Tobago.

UK Athletics Head of the Paralympic Performance, Katie Jones, commented: "The announcement of our whole team for the World Para Athletics Championships in India is the first significant step into the LA 2028 Paralympic cycle.

"A full squad of 37 has a great mix of experience, from the seven international debuts to a good depth of world-class medal winners. I have full confidence in the athlete's ability to deliver outstanding performances on the global stage. Congratulations to all those selected."
