The Department of Social Sciences of the University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences Lahore organised a one-day workshop titled “Islamic Banking in Pakistan Principle and Practice”. Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Talat Naseer Pasha chaired the inaugural session of the workshop while Assistant Prof from Institute of Information Technology (COMSATS) Dr Hafiz Muhammad Zubair, Dr Hafiz Hussain Azhar, Sarwar Siddique, Ms Rafia Kiran Zahid and a large number of faculty members and students were present on the occasion.

In his address, Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Talat Naseer Pasha appreciates the effort of organizer to arrange such a needful and informative workshop for science students. He said Islam is a complete way of life and God has given us guidelines affecting many different aspects of our lives, including the economic aspect.

He said there is a great deal of information in the Quran and Sunnah, in which describes how Muslims are to engage in economic transactions. The objective of the workshop is to educate people about Islamic Economy and its Banking System. In which Dr Hafiz Muhammad Zubair delivered a lecture on the introduction of Islamic Banking System and develop the Idea of Banking products and services that confirm to the true spirit of Shariah.
