The price of a Premier League pie has been predicted to rise to as much as £9.57 in 20 years time, due to inflation.
That’s according to a new study from betting tips, predictions, and news site Footy Accumulators, which analysed the price of the cheapest pie at each current Premier League stadium to celebrate British Pie Week. Then by factoring in the current inflation rate of 3.3% for food and drink, they were able to reveal the potential price of Premier League pies over the next 20 years.
The most expensive match day pies in 2024 can be found at West Ham’s London Stadium, where the pies are priced at a flat £5. However, if inflation continues at the same rate, then in 20 years' time, fans at the London Stadium will be forking out a whopping £9.57 - that won’t leave much filling in fans’ wallets.
Premier League newcomers Ipswich have the second-most expensive pies in the league at £4.95. In two decade’s time, pies could cost as much as £9.48 at Portman Road.
In third place was Arsenal, as the pies at the Emirates Stadium are priced at £4.80. After 20 years of inflation, Gunners fans could be spending up to £9.19 on a half-time pie.
Here’s how the top 10 most expensive EPL pies rank now, compared to 10 years’ time:

Manchester City ranked in fourth place, with their pricey pies predicted to cost at £9.00 in 2045. The current cost of a pie at the Etihad is £4.70. Three London-based EPL clubs tied for fifth place when it came to pie prices, with Chelsea, Crystal Palace and Fulham charging fans £4.50 for football’s most popular culinary delight.
With inflation, it is forecasted that this trio of clubs will each price their pies at a massive £8.61 in two decades. Leicester City and Manchester United also featured in the top ten, as both clubs price their pies at £4.20 - these prices are expected to rise to £8.04 by 2045.
Completing the top ten is Brighton & Hove Albion, as the Seagulls sell their pies for £4.10 - but prices could increase to £7.85 in the next 20 years. The cheapest pies in the Premier League can be found for just £3.30 at Nottingham Forest’s City Ground.
However, not even Nottingham Forest is safe from inflation, and pies here could be slightly less affordable at £6.32 in 20 years’ time. This is £1.32 more expensive than the current most expensive pie in the league.
Pies at Anfield are also some of the most fairly priced in the Premier League, with Liverpool charging just £3.40 - although this figure could rise to £6.51 in two decades, due to inflation. If inflation for food and drink continues at its current level, then the average Premier League pie will cost an eye-watering £7.96 by 2045.
A spokesperson for Footy Accumulators commented on the study: “Enjoying a pie is integral to the match day experience for many football fans, and as it is British Pie Week, there is no better time to look at the costs across the Premier League.
“Our study goes to show the disparity in prices at Premier League football stadiums and just how expensive buying a pie at the match already is, along with how much worse it could get in the future.”
The 2024/25 price of a pie in each Premier League stadium was sourced from Football Stadiums. The average inflation rate of 3.3% for food and drink was taken from the latest ONS figures and was applied to each Premier League stadium's pie price to predict the cost of a pie over the next decade.
Inflation was calculated via Financial Calculators.
