Sports, media and entertainment group R3 Sport has signed specialist business bank Redwood Bank as a lead sponsor for its R3 Bullpadel Cup, which is working to transform padel tennis in the UK.
The cup, launched with Bullpadel Spain, is offering the most prize money ever paid for a padel tournament in the UK and has set itself the ambition of creating padel stars and helping to build a GB team to potentially compete in the 2032 Olympics in Brisbane. The sponsorship by Redwood Bank, a specialist business bank founded in 2017 to challenge mainstream banks and do better for SMEs, reflects its entrepreneurial spirit and support for padel which is more accessible than other racket sports.
As well as financial support, Redwood Bank will also provide all players in the tournament with branded thermal water bottles as part of its sponsorship. R3 Bullpadel Cup 2025 will promote the sport in the UK across men, women and juniors with the aim of boosting padel’s profile in the country and enabling players to compete more regularly at home and become better known.
Redwood Bank CEO and Co-Founder Gary Wilkinson said: “Padel is one of the fastest-growing sports in the UK and we’re thrilled to be part of its journey.
“Sponsoring the Cup isn’t just about the tournament, it’s about fueling the passion, competition and community that makes this sport so exciting. We look forward to seeing the tournament thrive and for padel to reach new heights.” Sam Kemp, Managing Director of Operations, Tournaments and Events of R3 Sport, said: “The R3 Bullpadel Cup is a vitally important step for the development of our future professional players and of the sport more broadly.
“It is great to have the support of Redwood Bank as a sponsor as we work to ensure the Cup is a massive success.” Redwood Bank, based in Letchworth and Warrington, is a flexible and relationship-based business bank committed to supporting British businesses through commercial and buy-to-let mortgages for business owners and professional landlords, as well as award-winning savings accounts to businesses and charities.
The Cup will be played over a maximum of six events, delivered in conjunction with the Lawn Tennis Association (LTA) and International Padel Federation (FIP) culminating with the Cup Finals in December 2025 and the launch of the R3 Bullpadel Super League for 2026.
