Staff at Jubilee House, a new £9m luxury all-inclusive care home in Leamington Spa, welcomed their first residents with an official red ribbon cutting event to mark its official opening. The new home is forecast to bring an estimated 150 jobs to the region once at full capacity.

Cutting the ribbon were Alison Partridge and John Ackerman, the first residents to move into the home. The ceremony was met with cheers and applause.

The cutting followed an earlier event attended by staff and prospective residents, where those attending were able to enjoy champagne, canapés, and cake. It also offered staff and prospective residents the opportunity to meet one another.

At full capacity, the new 78 en-suite bedroom care home will bring an estimated 150 jobs to the region, including nursing and care staff, ancillary and kitchen workers, as well as jobs among the home’s suppliers. Residents at the home will benefit from a wide range of excellent facilities, including a high-end bar and bistro, a private dining room, a large screen cinema, an arts and crafts room, landscaped gardens, spa facilities, and a luxury car service.

Jubilee House care home marks the latest addition to Berkley Care Group’s existing portfolio of 11 homes located across the Midlands and South of England. It offers residential, respite, nursing, dementia, and palliative care services. Residents at the home also benefit from Berkley’s all-inclusive transparent pricing model, which underpins its delivery of person-centred care through a tailored programme of activities and events, so that residents can enjoy a high quality of life without the worry of additional fees.

The expert team of carers and support staff at Jubilee House deliver high standards of care and a diverse range of entertainment to ensure residents live well and lead fulfilling lives in a friendly, welcoming family environment. Meanwhile, the home’s on-site professional chefs provide residents with a combination of both restaurant standard and home cooked cuisine.

Jubilee House has been designed and built to ensure the best quality of life for its residents. In addition to its 78 spacious en-suite bedrooms, residents benefit from a wide range of excellent facilities, including a high-end bar and bistro, a private dining room, a large screen cinema, an arts and crafts room, landscaped gardens, spa facilities, and a luxury car service.

The home has been built with energy efficient insulation in all the cavity walls as well as the floors and roof space, reducing the amount of heating required to warm the new build and protecting the home from rising energy costs. This state-of-the-art insulation gives Jubilee House an energy efficiency rating of A, ahead of the government’s net zero plan. The new home also caters for electric vehicle charging points. It is also in keeping with the Berkley Care Group’s parent company Korian’s wider environmental objectives.

The external build of the care home was carried out by the construction company Lawrence Baker who also built luxury care home Badminton Place in Bristol, another home in the Berkley Care Group portfolio. The home is also equipped with state-of-the-art ventilation systems to help prevent the spread of viruses, including Influenza and Covid-19. It also has the latest electronic prescription dispensing technology to reduce pharmacy errors. The home has a presence on social media. Commenting on the opening day, Chief Executive Officer of Berkley Care Group, Andrew Winstanley said: “The opening of Jubilee House is a significant milestone for Berkley. It’s great to officially welcome residents into our new care home and to have the opportunity to provide tours of our modern facilities and the excellent care we will be providing to residents here at the home.

“Here at Berkley Care Group, we understand the worries that residents and their families face when it comes to care fees. That’s why here at Jubilee House, as with all of our homes, we offer an all-inclusive pricing model that offers residents and their families the peace of mind that everything is included in just one fee.

“Residents can enjoy the luxury facilities that we offer, such as a bar bistro, a cinema room and fine dining, at no extra cost. But, Jubilee House and our investment in building the home underscores our wider belief and commitment to the Warwickshire region. Once at full capacity, we estimate the home will create 150 jobs, both in the home and among our suppliers.”

Also commenting, General Manager of Jubilee House, Phillippa Cook said: “We are delighted that Jubilee House is now open to allow our new residents to move in. There has been a lot of love, care and attention-to-detail put into the home’s design and construction.
