To commemorate the upcoming 50th anniversary of England's World Cup glory in July 2016, the five-star Royal Garden Hotel, which is also celebrating its 50th anniversary this year, has created a bespoke room package for football fanatics to relive a Golden Moment of sporting history.

In celebration of England's 1966 team captain, the Bobby Moore room package, which will be available throughout 2016, includes:

  • An overnight night stay at The Royal Garden hotel with full English breakfast
  • Tickets to Wembley for a tour of the winners' stadium
  • A gift bag with The Royal Garden Hotel's  50th anniversary book containing images from the 1966 celebrations and other football themed gifts

A donation from the cost of the package will be donated to The Bobby More Fund for Cancer Research UK, a charity set up in Bobby's memory to raise funds and create awareness for bowel cancer. The charity has raised over £21 million to date, with funds spent on research carried out by leading scientists working across the UK.

Jonathan Lowrey, general manager of the Royal Garden Hotel, said: “We have a strong affiliation with the winning '66 team, so we're delighted to support the Bobby Moore Fund this year to commemorate the anniversary. We aim to raise £50,000 for the charity over the coming months.”

The room package is just the first of many special experiences that the hotel has planned to mark five decades since the World Cup win, as well as our own golden anniversary. 2016 will see the hotel's Park Terrace restaurant work with Stephanie Moore, the widow of the legendary footballer, to create bespoke dishes inspired by Bobby's favourite food. When guests order from this menu, a donation will be made to the Fund in an effort to reach the £50,000 target.

Stephanie Moore adds: “I am delighted that the Bobby Moore Fund will be working alongside the Royal Garden Hotel in 2016, for what hopes to be an exciting year recognising 50 years since Bobby lifted the World Cup.”

For the month of July, the Royal Garden Hotel's Bertie's Bar, will be transformed into the Bobby Moore lounge, with themed snacks and screenings of live matches.
