Sangha Academy is an educational initiative based in Birmingham that helps young people to achieve their goals in a changing world.
- Knowledge - Understand who you are, who you want to become, and how you can get there, given the way that the world works.
- Skills - Get trained by expert coaches to practise the crucial communication and life skills that you will need to succeed.
- Connections - Learn how to make the key connections that will help you to create the life that you want, which is unique to you.
How does it work? They work closely with young people and their families, providing personalised guidance and ongoing support.
They bring a fresh perspective and positive influence, always with your family’s long-term best interests at heart. And they host regular training sessions (every two weeks during term-time), where small groups of students (of a similar age, but from different schools and backgrounds) can experience these values, while developing their knowledge and practising key communication and life skills.
Only limited places are available, with applications reviewed on a first-come-first-served basis.
In the training sessions, students are led through a series of practical exercises by an expert coach who gives you personalised input, while you practise things such as how to:
- Move, speak and act with confidence in any social group or situation.
- Persuasively convey your thoughts on a subject to an individual or group.
- Create the strong social connections you will need to achieve your goals.
- Make the right real-world moves to uncover and fulfil your purpose.
- Become a valued, respected member of any team or community.
- Understand the key social issues of our time, and how they relate to you.
The next training sessions will take place at King Edward’s High School in Edgbaston, Birmingham. From 10am to 12 noon, every 2 weeks, on the following dates*:
- Saturday 2nd November 2024, 10am-12noon
