It has been announced that the SLB Men’s Trophy Final and SLB Women’s Betty Codona Trophy Final will be taking place at Birmingham’s prestigious Utilita Arena.

They will be the first major finals of the season and, as always, an exhilarating experience for basketball fans nationwide. Looking back at this year’s Finals Day, the 2024-25 finale witnessed a thrilling display of basketball in front of a crowd of 8,500 at the Utilita Arena, as Newcastle Eagles emerged victorious in the Men’s Trophy, defeating the Bristol Flyers.

In a nail-biting finish, the Caledonia Gladiators claimed the Betty Codona Trophy with a 61-59 win over the Oaklands Wolves. SLB (Super League Basketball) Chief Operating Officer Andy Webb said: “There’s a reason the Utilita Arena has hosted showcase occasions in British basketball for decades.

“It’s a fantastic venue and everyone in the game looks forward to an even bigger and better Finals Day in 2026.” Off the court, fans can expect elite entertainment to keep them on the edge of their seats from start to finish, as the country’s top ballers make history on the hardwood.

SLB Head of Events Clare Holmes commented: “The season’s first Final is always popular with fans and for the finalists, the road to a possible ‘double’ or ‘treble’ in 2025-26 starts here.

“Last season’s final was watched by nearly 10,000 people in what is a superb basketball arena and we’re delighted to return to Birmingham for what will be another memorable occasion.” The Super League Basketball Trophy Finals takes place on Sunday, 1 February 2026.

Further announcements regarding ticket details and the 2025-26 season in general will be made by SLB in the coming weeks.
