A group of 67 athletes have been offered membership to join the British Athletics Olympic World Class Programme (WCP) for 2021/22.

The WCP is UK Sport’s National Lottery funded initiative supporting the delivery of success at named milestone targets, namely outdoor track World and European Championships and Olympics Games.

Motorsport star Bubba Wallace became a history-maker after becoming the first Black driver to win a race in Nascar's premier series in 58 years. After taking his first Nascar Cup Series win at Talladega Superspeedway, he follows the feat of Wendell Scott who won the race in 1963.

Sport 4 Life UK, based in Digbeth, Birmingham, is staging the R15E UP Challenge to mark 15 years of supporting young people across the region into qualifications or employment.

Pride Sports, part of the Pride House Birmingham 2022 legacy programme, are have announced that they are bidding to bring the European Gay & Lesbian Sports Federation (EGLSF) EuroGames to Birmingham in the summer of 2024.

EuroGames is Europe’s largest annual LGBTQI+ inclusive sports event.

Sports fans hoping to secure tickets for the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games need to act fast as the main ticket ballot for the Games will close at 8pm today (Thursday September 30). There are more than one million tickets available for the Games, the biggest multi-sport event to be held in the UK since the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games, with prices starting at just £8 for under 16s and £15 for adults.
