TFEP has teamed up with a small number of high calibre Universities and not-for-profit research institutions in the United States, The Caribbean and Europe to create The Caribbean Training and Research Group (CARI-TaRG). The Group will be able to provide access to the best training and research expertise in all aspects of entrepreneurship to support economic development policies in the Caribbean.

Activities will include short one-day courses in the Caribbean, longer more intense training in Europe, the United States and the Caribbean, an entrepreneurship mentoring programme and relevant research activities.

For instance CARI-TaRG and the University of the Virgin Islands are hosting a 2-day Conference in the Us Virgin Islands on 9/10 November on the topic of “Mediation and the Caribbean Justice System”

CARI-TaRG has three Training Centres located in the United States (based at The Department of Urban and Public Affairs, The University of Louisville campus), The Caribbean (based at the University of the Virgin Islands (US)) and Europe (based at the Department of Economics and Statistics, Udine University, Italy).

CARI-TaRG seeks out, and responds to, appropriate research and training opportunities that are identified by the CARI-TaRG Members or are presented to us. We also respond to appropriate tenders.

"If the required expertise is not available from within the CARI-TaRG team we will co-opt appropriate other European and/or United States organisations to provide such training/support. TFEP will lead the Group and manage any contracts (be they private or publicly funded – including funding from the EU). We will therefore be creating a database of “External Expert Organisations” that we can call on to support us."
