The anticipation surrounding the 24th edition of the Prague Half Marathon has reached fever pitch, as the city prepares to welcome an impressive cohort of more than 15,000 runners from across the globe.

With a new start and finish location, this year's half marathon, (which is one of the prestigious SuperHalfs) promises to bring a new perspective to the scenic beauty of Prague's streets. The Prague Half Marathon has a reputation as one of the best-organized events in the world, with an Elite World Athletics label to prove it.

Runners are going to fall in love with the course of this year's Prague Half: along the Vltava River, with the views of Prague Castle and Charles Bridge in the background, taking them through the heart and soul of the city - Old Town Square, right by the Astronomical Clock. All that on a very fast course.

As a testament to the event's ever-growing popularity and inclusivity, the lineup this year boasts an eclectic mix of participants, each with their own story to tell. It will be run by several well-known personalities, such as the most influential sports influencer of 2023, Lisa Migliorini, aka @thefashionjogger.

Martin Fiz, the Spanish marathon world champion from 1995, will also take on one of the most beautiful courses in the world in an attempt to win all six SuperHalfs races in the 60+ category. In addition, Slovak national Maroš Kudlík, known as @marosh_the_spartan will be taking part.

Maros is a runner who has beaten cancer three times, and only has one leg. Yet, the Prague Half Marathon's charm extends beyond the social media world.

It is an event which connects families, friends, and enthusiasts in Prague to experience not only the race, but also to participate in the vibrant Running EXPO. The Running EXPO (a collaborative effort with Prague Exhibitons Ground) offers an immersive experience with cutting-edge gear, nutrition essentials, and running innovations.

In a reflection of the event's growing global appeal, this year more than half of the participants, comprising 115 nationalities, are from overseas. Germany, Spain, and Italy are leading the charge, emerging as the top three countries who will contribute to the diverse and vibrant tapestry of the Prague Half Marathon 2024.

The growth of international runners serves to underline the event's status as a premier fixture in the global running calendar. Highlighting too, its ability to unite individuals worldwide in the shared pursuit of athletic excellence.

As the countdown to race day begins, anticipation is mounting, not just for the fierce competition at the front of the pack, but also for the personal triumphs and milestones each runner is set to achieve. Whether aiming to break records or set personal bests, or to simply soak in the vibrant atmosphere of the race, one thing is for sure, each participant will be in Prague to witness history in the making at the Prague Half Marathon 2024 on 6 April.
