Projects, plans and people representing the best of public and private sector town planning from around the West Midlands have been shortlisted in the Royal Town Planning Institute Awards for Planning Excellence. Regional winners will be announced on 30 June at the RTPI West Midlands Summer Ball and Awards

 

The RTPI represents 27,000 planning professionals worldwide and promotes spatial planning, shapes policy and raises professional standards. For over 30 years, RTPI West Midlands has been presenting awards recognising the power of planning in creating exceptional places and protecting our environment.

Awards for 2022 will be presented for:

·         Best Plan 

·         Best Project 

·         Local Authority of the Year

·         Small Planning Consultancy of the Year

·         Young Planner of the Year 

·         RTPI WM Chair's Award

Head Judge and Vice Chair of RTPI West Midlands Clare Eggington said: “The shortlisted entries are a mix of outstanding public and private sector planning, reflecting the quality and achievements of the planning profession throughout the West Midlands. Given the high calibre of entries, the judges will no doubt find it difficult to pick an overall winner.”

RTPI West Midlands’ winners will be announced at the Summer Ball and Awards Ceremony on 30 June, to be held at Millennium Point in Birmingham and sponsored by No5 Barristers’ Chambers, with additional sponsorship from Avison YoungClaremont PlanningHayfield Homes and Pegasus Group.

RTPI West Midlands’ winners and top scoring entries will go through to the National Ceremony to become national finalists alongside those from Regions and Nations across the UK. This prestigious event will reward and celebrate the very best in planning at a ceremony in central London on 30 November. The silver jubilee cup will also be awarded to the project deemed the most outstanding of all the winning projects.
