Birmingham Health, Safety and Environment Association (BHSEA) has won three awards at the recent SGUK 2023 Awards.
They won a Silver Excellence Award for the Mock Trial Event, an Outstanding Achievement Award for their former Chair George Allcock and the Alan Porter Rose Bowl as their Member, Coventry based WA Management, won the Lord Cullen Trophy for their entry: Revolutionary Health and Safety app ‘Under Construction’.
BHSEA Chair Wayne Bishop, Committee member Louise Mansfield of Bevan Brittan, and Member Andy Lucas attended the award ceremony at the International Occupational Safety and Health Headquarters on September 21 and collected all three of the awards. The Awards were presented by Norman Stevenson, SGUK Chair.
The Mock Trial event which took place at Wolverhampton University was designed to help businesses understand the law enforcement process in a much more practical and hands-on way and attracted 140 West Midlands businesses. It outlined how companies and their people, at all levels of the organisation, can get caught up and caught out in such a process. The event explained how the enforcement process works, what is involved and how to prepare appropriately if a serious health and safety incident were to occur.
