As part of its continued commitment to community engagement in Turks & Caicos, Carnival Corporation & plc, the world’s largest cruise company, hosted special ship visits for nurses from Cockburn Town Medical Centre and Aged Care and Rehabilitation Department of the Ministry of Health and Human Services.
The initiative, which began during Nurses Week and extended into late June, recognized the unwavering dedication and invaluable care these health care professionals have provided to both guests and team members of the Carnival Corporation fleet over the years. “We are honoured to recognize and celebrate the exceptional care provided by the team at the Cockburn Town Medical Centre,” said Dr. Joseph Scott, senior director of fleet medical operations for Carnival Corporation.
“Their service has played an essential role in supporting the well-being of our guests and crew visiting Grand Turk. These visits are a small but heartfelt gesture of appreciation for a partnership built on trust, professionalism and compassion.”
More than 40 nurses participated in ship visits across four vessels in late May and June: Carnival Freedom, Enchanted Princess, Carnival Vista and Carnival Magic. Each visit included an overview of guest areas and a hosted lunch, while the Cockburn Town nurses also toured the ship’s medical facilities led by the onboard medical team.
The visits also served to highlight the ongoing collaboration between Carnival Corporation and Interhealth Canada, the management team behind Cockburn Town Medical Centre. Carnival Corporation remains committed to deepening community partnerships throughout the region and is proud to support and acknowledge the contributions of health care professionals during Nurses Week and beyond.
