The 2024 Caribbean Media Exchange (CMEx) Leadership Awards and Fundraiser in Miami celebrated the outstanding achievements of leaders driving positive change across tourism, media and community development in the Caribbean.
Former president of the Caribbean Broadcasting Union, Victor Fernandes (pic), who now serves as Barbados Ambassador to the U.S. and the Organization of American States, was recognized for his groundbreaking contributions to regional broadcasting and media leadership. Unable to attend the ceremony due to commitments in Barbados, he shared heartfelt remarks via video, emphasizing the pursuit of excellence and the importance of raising industry standards.
With a career defined by innovation and public service, he continues to inspire the next generation of Caribbean communicators and leaders. CMEx Director Dr. Basil Springer accepted the award on his behalf.
