Barratt Homes has officially sold out at its popular Grange View development in Hugglescote, bringing an end to a successful chapter in the Leicestershire village.
Having launched in September 2019, the development has now fully sold out with a flourishing community established at the site. In total, 293 homes have been sold and completed, providing high-quality new housing for residents in the area.
Martyn Parker, Sales Director at Barratt Homes North Midlands, said: “Grange View has been a fantastic development and it’s wonderful to see a thriving new community now settled in Hugglescote.
“For anyone still looking for a new home in Leicestershire, we would recommend a visit to our other Leicestershire developments, such as King’s Meadow in Melton Mowbray or Wigston Meadows in Wigston, where a range of new homes are available.” As part of the planning agreement for Grange View, Barratt Homes and its sister company David Wilson Homes invested close to £16 million in and around Hugglescote to support local services and enhance facilities for new and existing residents.
The total contribution of over £15.9 million included more than £15.7 million towards the area’s educational amenities, and £176,526 on civic amenities, as well as bus pass subsidies for residents within the first six months of development. In 2024, Martyn Griffiths, site manager at Grange View, was recognised for his role in overseeing the development, which exemplifies the high standards that Barratt Homes strives to achieve.
His efforts were acknowledged with a Pride in the Job Quality Award from the National House Building Council (NHBC), and he later went on to receive an NHBC Seal of Excellence – an accolade awarded to approximately 130 site managers nationwide for exceptional performance in site management. During its time at Grange View, Barratt Homes actively engaged with the local community through various initiatives.
In 2021, Marlborough Day Nursery received a donation of small footballs to encourage young children to stay active and support social interaction following the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic. In 2023, in celebration of Roald Dahl Day, Barratt Homes brought author and storyteller Tom the Tale Teller to St Clare’s Primary School in Coalville, where he delivered a captivating storytelling session to pupils.
In 2024, a donation of £1,000 was made to Coalville charity Enrych to support its services for mental health and people living with disabilities, and Coalville Rugby Football Club received £1,300 in financial support. With Grange View now fully sold and the community established, residents are benefitting from the development’s high-quality homes in a sought-after location.
Martyn added: “We remain committed to delivering high-quality new homes in handpicked locations and supporting the communities where we build.” To find out more about other available homes in the county, visit the Barratt Homes in Leicestershire website.
