Engage the taste buds and indulge in a seafood celebration like no other as England’s Seafood FEAST returns to the picturesque shores of the English Riviera this September to celebrate the world-renowned local seafood.

Set against the backdrop of the famous Brixham fish market and its charming coastal neighbours, Paignton and Torquay, this culinary event promises an unforgettable experience for food enthusiasts and adventurers alike. From 27 September to 13 October, marking British Food Fortnight and National Seafood Month in October, the English Riviera proudly presents over 30 events, overnight stays and special menus across the region, transforming it into the ultimate foodie destination.

With a focus on locally caught seafood, visitors will have the opportunity to broaden their horizons with over 40 varieties of seafood prepared by top chefs and culinary experts. Among the highlights of this year's FEAST are foraging expeditions, masterclasses led by renowned chefs, a seven-course tasting menu from seven different chefs, sizzling BBQs by the beach, and a vineyard tour paired with a delicious seafood meal.

For those with adventurous spirits, there is the unique experience of a sea-swim followed by a rejuvenating sauna session and a sumptuous seafood dinner. Pop-ups, takeovers and restaurants featuring award-winning dishes from the winners of the National Fish and Chip Awards 2024 will also be in the area and guests can also savour a meal inspired by the favourite seafood dishes of iconic local author and national treasure, Agatha Christie.

Visitors can dine in over 40 different eateries across Brixham, Paignton, and Torquay, each offering its unique twist on fresh, locally sourced seafood. Meet the ‘Faces of the Feast’ and immerse yourself in their captivating stories, from the thrilling tales of fishers at sea to the culinary artistry and passion of our talented chefs.

And for those travelling with furry companions, fear not - seafood options will even be available for dogs during the Seadogs at Shoreline event. "England's Seafood FEAST is a feast for all the senses," says Kelly Widley, who is in charge of putting the programme together.

"Our goal is to educate and encourage visitors to explore the rich culinary heritage of our coastal communities while enjoying the freshest British seafood imaginable in a really fun way. In The English Riviera, we believe in offering something for everyone.

"That is why we've curated an eclectic mix of events, ensuring there's always something exciting happening across the 17-day event." Top local chefs Mitch Tonks and Simon Hulston are joining the culinary line-up and shared their enthusiasm for showcasing the region's culinary treasures.

Mitch Tonks, acclaimed restaurateur and founder of Rockfish enthusiastically stated: “The world of seafood is often shrouded in mystery, leading many to stick to what they know.

“However, England's Seafood Coast boasts an incredible array of species caught and landed by our local fishermen. The Feast is an exceptional opportunity to celebrate this bounty over a couple of weeks, offering visitors the chance to explore and indulge in a multitude of seafood delights.

“It's truly a feast for the senses; navigating through different locations, sampling various dishes—it's like embarking on a seafood trail. I recommend grabbing your map early and plotting out your culinary adventure. It's time to feast!”

Simon Hulston, Michelin star chef and owner of English Riviera restaurant, The Elephant, echoes this sentiment, adding: "The Seafood FEAST also offers a brilliant opportunity to showcase the culinary expertise of our region and highlight the importance of sustainable, locally sourced ingredients.

“It is a great excuse to try a huge variety of seafood dishes and experience an amazing atmosphere with lots going on for everyone." The seafood spectacular attracted hundreds of visitors last year and some events sold out within 24 hours.
