Everest Inn, a treasured restaurant located in the heart of Blackheath, is this year celebrating 20 years of serving the local Blackheath community.

Since its establishment in 2005, the award-winning restaurant has become a local favourite, known for its authentic Nepali/Indian fusion cuisine, dedication to charity, and unwavering support of the surrounding communities in south east London. Located on Montpelier Vale, overlooking the Heath, Everest Inn is led by award-winning Executive Chef Shanker Pandey alongside restaurant owner Yadav Bhandari and Head Chef Ram B. Bhandari, and supported by the dedicated team.

As one of the eldest and most successful Nepalese/Indian inspired restaurants in the UK, Everest Inn has garnered a loyal following, with additional locations across Kent that are also well recognised. Everest Inn's longevity can be attributed to its unwavering commitment to community and quality.

Over the years, the restaurant has catered at prestigious events, including for the Nepali Embassy at Number 10 Downing Street, and has hosted charity events to raise funds for causes close to its heart, such as Project Hospice Nepal. Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, Everest Inn supported NHS workers and frontline staff by providing free meals, demonstrating their dedication to giving back.

The restaurant's impressive list of accolades includes multiple Asian Curry Awards and British Curry Awards, recognising its blend of tradition, innovation, and culinary excellence. Chef Shanker even appeared on Rick Stein's TV show in 2024. Everest Inn is also well-known for its Diwali Nights, a popular celebration of the festival, which has sold out each year and now spans two nights due to its increasing demand.

The restaurant has forged close ties with well-known figures, including Joanna Lumley, a passionate advocate for Nepal, and several MasterChef favourites, including Chef
Santosh Shah. Whether through takeaway, delivery, private dining, or outdoor catering, Everest Inn remains committed to making exceptional food and service accessible to all.

As Everest Inn celebrates this milestone, the team encourages press and culinary enthusiasts to visit and experience their renowned hospitality for themselves. With nearly two decades of success, Everest Inn is a testament to the power of community, quality food, and the warm relationships they have built with their loyal customers.

"For two wonderful decades, Everest Inn has been more than just a restaurant to us—we've been proud to be part of the heart and soul of Blackheath,” says Yadav Bhandari, owner & general manager, Everest Inn.

“As a family-run business, we take immense pride in not only serving award-winning cuisine but also in the relationships we've built with the local community. Our commitment to giving back has always been at the heart of our ethos.

“From supporting schools and local initiatives to contributing to traditions like the Blackheath Christmas lights, we've always strived to make a positive impact. During the COVID-19 pandemic, we were honoured to provide over 30,000 free meals to frontline workers, care homes, hospitals, and NHS staff when they needed it most.

"As Blackheath has grown—from a village of independent traders to the rise of big chains—our passion for preserving our close-knit community spirit remains stronger than ever. We're deeply grateful for our customers and their continued support and look forward to celebrating many more years together."
