Birmingham based charity, Help Harry Help Others has launched its Christmas campaign in honour of their founder, Harry Moseley, celebrating the impact his legacy has had on thousands of families over the last 12 years, while also asking the public to help ensure it will be around for many more Christmases to come.

Harry raised over £750,000 for cancer research in the last two years of his life, before he passed away on 8th October 2011, aged just 11 years old from an inoperable brain tumour. In the “I am Harry” campaign, celebrity ambassadors are joined by charity users, family members, specialist service providers, fundraisers and volunteers, all declaring “I am Harry” and sharing how they have been supported or inspired by Harry’s vision and legacy.

In the appeal, stars including Ben Shephard, Alison Hammond and Cat Deeley, alongside Birmingham City Football Club owner, Tom Wagner can be seen sharing their “I am Harry” selfie videos and championing the charity. Help Harry Help Others currently supports 1500 families impacted by a cancer diagnosis via their Drop-in Cancer Support Centre, launched by Harry’s Mom, Georgie in 2015.

The centre, based in Stechford, Birmingham provides over 20 services to support families in every aspect outside of treatment, from mental wellbeing to finances and housing. Families like Kate, a mother seeking help for her 12-year-old son, who’s best friend had been diagnosed with terminal cancer, before later having to lean on the charity after her own diagnosis, or Oonagh, one of the charity’s own trained counsellors who has been diagnosed with a form of Hodgkin's Lymphoma and is undergoing treatment.

The Help Harry Help Others Centre costs the charity £850 a day to run and it currently does not receive any NHS or Government funding. The campaign aims to remind Brummies and beyond of the huge difference regular giving makes to the charity and the families it supports, asking them to consider signing up for as little as £3.00 per month to the regular gift initiative, Club Harry, as an alternative card or gift this festive season.

Georgie Moseley said: “This campaign is both a celebration of Harry and a reminder of how he continues to help people affected by cancer.

“The charity and his legacy have made such an impact on so many people's lives - people who tell me week in and week out that they wouldn’t be here without Help Harry Help Others and our centre. Our charity is needed now more than ever, but without any Government funding, we can only continue supporting our cancer community if we have the ongoing support of our wider community.

“Please consider the impact a contribution can make to our charity this Christmas. For less than the price of a Christmas market bought hot chocolate or a set of seasonal supermarket cards, you can help ensure our centre stays open and helps thousands more families for years to come.”

ITV This Morning host and charity ambassador, Ben Shephard, continues: “I was lucky enough to meet Harry and I will never stop banging the drum for this amazing charity and the legacy Harry has left behind. Charities like Help Harry Help Others are a lifeline for communities up and down our country. It’s imperative we support the work they do, however and whenever we can. Harry created the most wonderful charity and I’m honoured to be a small part of it.”
