Moments Café, which opened this week alongside the LGBT Centre at Holloway Circus, will be serving freshly-made breakfasts and lunches, snacks, cakes and drinks. It is the first business venture for John Taylor Hospice, whose motto every moment matters was the source of inspiration for the café name.

Senior barista Bryan Paice said the idea for Moments came from the great responses from patients and families to the food offered at the hospice.

“Our chef team always makes every meal matter with delicious food that is ‘Taylor-made’ and good for you,” he said. “People already love our food so we decided that opening a café would be a great way of sharing that.

Moments is a city centre venue where you can meet with friends and colleagues, enjoy a great bite to eat and indulge in premier teas and coffees.

“Better still you will eat good, feel good and do good.  All the proceeds of Moments Café will fund specialist care for the hundreds of families who come to John Taylor Hospice every year. Moments Café is a social venue with social value.”

John Taylor Hospice CIC has taken on a full team of staff to manage the café which will be open between 7am and 2.30pm, Monday to Friday.

“Whether you grab and go or take a moment to eat in, our customers can get involved, ‘Tayloring’ our menu and even our opening hours,” continued Bryan. "Having a kitchen at John Taylor Hospice at The Grange and the café, means we will be offering external catering too.”
