Following a battle against some truly fierce competition, Jonny Hargrave has been unveiled as the KFC Master, winning the opportunity to work with the KFC innovation team to add his creation to the KFC menu in 2023, along with a year’s supply of KFC.

The winning entry created by Jonny Hargrave is the Strip and Chip Dirty Burger.

The never-seen-before creation not only won over the chicken chiefs at KFC HQ, but also the hearts of fans, storming ahead in KFC’s deciding Instagram poll.

The burger includes two succulent original recipe boneless mini fillets coated with Supercharger sauce on top and BBQ sauce on the bottom (inspired by the Dirty Louisiana), all housed in a toasted sesame seed bun. And that’s not all… for that added crunch, the burger includes coleslaw and a layer of chips set to tantalise tastebuds to the extreme.

On his win Jonny said “I am over the moon about becoming the KFC Master! I am a dedicated fan of KFC and put a lot of love into my creation, so the fact I have the chance to create a new menu item on top of a year’s supply of KFC is just a dream come true!” The KFC Masters competition launched last week, with KFC on the hunt for their boneless chicken app-hen-tice - and boy, it was spicy.

Whilst there were some absolutely extraordinary entries, such as loaded mini fillet buckets and katsu chicken burgers, there could be only one winner to nab the crown. After the top two were shortlisted by the chicken chiefs at KFC cluck-quarters, they went head-to-head on KFC’s Instagram channel with KFC fans from across the country deciding their fate and ultimately crowning Jonny as the winner.
