After a successful European Indoor Championships for GB & NI in Istanbul this weekend, all eyes are now on the summer season as tickets for the London Diamond League go back on sale. With the world’s best athletes and para athletes headed for London Diamond League on Sunday 23 July, tickets are once again available to fans looking to reignite memories of Super Saturday.

The stadium, which last hosted athletics with the 2019 edition, will welcome the best athletes from around the world in what will be the biggest one day athletics spectacular of the year. It follows the sell-out crowds seen last summer cheering on athletics in Birmingham at the Commonwealth Games, proving UK track and field fans are also the best in the world.

Many of the stars of the GB & NI athletics team will be using the event to fine tune their preparations ahead of next Summer’s World Athletics Championships taking place in Budapest 19-27 August. It will also be a homecoming to remember for returning medallists from the World Para Athletics Championships taking place in Paris the week before. (8-17 July).

Newly available seats will be released for sale tomorrow. Fans are being urged to secure their tickets early as athletics comes home for the first time in four years for one session of spine-tingling, heart grabbing, chest-thumping action evoking memories of both London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games and the London 2017 World Athletics and Para Athletics Championships – widely regarded as the best World Athletics Championships ever.

In addition, the hugely popular ‘Legends Relay’ will take place within the athletics programme at the Diamond League event, with scores to be settled between some of the UK’s most successful and legendary athlete names following their 2019 battle.

Cherry Alexander, UKA’s Strategic Lead for Major Events said: “It has been fantastic to see GB & NI athletes bringing home the medals from Turkey over the last weekend and the successes of the para athletes in Dubai, and so many of them will have London in their plans as the perfect way to crown their summer in front of a home crowd.

“We want fans to raise the roof for the best athletes in the world and give them the best possible build up for the World Championships. The tickets released today as we go back on sale won’t hang about, make sure you are part of the biggest one day athletics showcase of the year!”

Fans have already snapped up tens of thousands of tickets to watch athletics this summer, at London Stadium. Newly released tickets, including home straight tickets, went on-sale since yesterday (Wednesday 8 March).
