Following the recent hurricane that has caused widespread devastation across Jamaica, Nehemiah Housing Association has stepped forward to offer vital support.

The West Midlands-based housing provider is sponsoring a container full of essential aid, helping to deliver food, clothing, and supplies to communities in desperate need. The response from the public has already been overwhelming, with tremendous donations of food and clothing pouring in.

However, as the scale of need in Jamaica becomes clearer, it’s evident that more containers and financial support are urgently required to get these much-needed items shipped to those who need them most. Nehemiah Housing Association, known for its strong community focus and long-standing ties with the Caribbean diaspora, is calling on other businesses and organisations across the West Midlands to step forward and help.

Sponsoring additional containers will ensure that all donated items reach Jamaica swiftly and safely, providing real relief for families affected by the disaster. “At Nehemiah, our mission has always been rooted in community, compassion, and action,” said Llewellyn Graham, Chief Executive of Nehemiah Housing Association (centre in pic).

“The devastation in Jamaica has touched us deeply. We’ve seen incredible generosity from local people already, but we now need more partners to come together to make sure these vital supplies actually reach those suffering on the ground.

“Every contribution counts!” The housing association has a long history of supporting both local and international causes that align with its Christian and community values.

This latest initiative reflects its ongoing commitment to serving communities beyond housing, especially in times of crisis. Nehemiah is urging West Midlands companies, churches, and community groups to sponsor additional containers or contribute to the shipping costs.

By doing so, they can play a direct role in helping the people of Jamaica recover and rebuild after this tragedy.
