Antique hunters from near and far can now find a new treasure trove centre at Wolverhampton’s historic Bantock House. ‘Antiques at Bantock’ has opened up at the visitor attraction following a year of successful monthly antique fairs run by Victoria Rowson and her husband Paul. Victoria, who ran an antique business in Bridgnorth, says the monthly fairs proved so popular that it made sense to open a shop on site at Bantock House in Finchfield Road.
Now visitors can browse antiques, furniture and collectables when visiting the popular house, gardens and café.
Victoria, who has been in the antiques trade for more than a decade, said: “We started off last year running monthly antiques fairs which are proving popular, not only because we have a great range of sellers but because people also love the venue and the café at Bantock.
“When we realised we could rent some space at Bantock we approached City of Wolverhampton Council about opening our business selling antiques from here. We are now open Tuesday to Sunday as well as running the monthly fairs.”
Councillor John Reynolds, Cabinet Member for City Economy, added: “We had thousands of visitors at Bantock over Christmas thanks to the lights switch on and the Christmas fair, and having an independent business based here selling antiques is another great reason for even more people to come along and discover what a great place Bantock is for all the family.”
