Leading Coldplay and Take That tribute bands will be headlining the new Thorpefest, summer outdoor music festival at the Thorpeness Country Club, near Aldeburgh on Suffolk's Heritage Coast on Saturday, 2nd July. Featuring nearly a dozen bands and artists performing live from 12noon until 10pm (gates open from 11am), the open air charity concert will replace the popular Music by the Sea event, which has been held outside the White Lion Hotel on Aldeburgh's sea front since 2012.

Headline acts will be Coldplace, regarded as the world's leading tribute band to Coldplay, and Take That tribute band, Rule the World, while other tributes include Vicky Jackson as Amy Winehouse, Pink and Lady Gaga. The Everly Everly duo, Roger and Colin, will also be performing a celebration of the music and songs of the Everly Brothers.

The programme kicks off with prolific Suffolk singer/songwriter Reb Capper whose beautiful melodies, intricate lyrics and passionate performance never fail to move, delight and engage audiences. The Ed Zachary Band follows with a variety of music from 50s and 60s rock 'n' roll all the way up to recent chart hits.

Other local artists include the Broadside Boys folk band and Raindance playing their own original songs and covers from the likes of U2, Stereophonics, Duran Duran, Walk the Moon, David Bowie, Muse and many more.

Older & Wiser will bring back memories with nostalgic entertainment from great artists including The Beatles, Rolling Stones, Ottis Reading and Bob Marley. A collection of cult classics will also be performed by J.S. & the Lockerbillies sure to get you up and dancing with shaking show-stoppers and rocking rollers from the golden age of jiving.

Excited with the new format Thorpefest, Peter Osborne, Operations Director at organisers TA Hotel Collection said; “For the first time, it will be a pre-sold ticketed event welcoming 3,000 people to come and enjoy some great music performed by national acts, emerging local artists, tribute bands and favourites from previous years. The privately owned Thorpeness Country Club is the perfect venue with both indoor and outdoor space including a large lawned area overlooking the sea”.
