Europe’s largest car manufacturing complex is launching a retraining campaign to train and develop production employees in e-mobility. The Volkswagen brand is thus forging ahead with converting its German plants to the production of electric vehicles.

Following on from the Zwickau and Emden passenger car plants, the Wolfsburg factory will also become an electric vehicle factory over the next few years.

Wolverhampton’s streets will now be extra clean and green thanks to a quartet of zero emission road sweepers. The four new battery electric vehicles (BEVs) have replaced old diesel-powered sweepers as part of City of Wolverhampton Council’s fleet electrification programme and commitment towards a greener city.

The BEVs will offer quiet, efficient and emission free sweeping of pedestrian areas, including the city centre and the city’s road system, throughout the year.

While Tevva’s laser-guided focus remains trained on building and delivering its battery-electric 7.5t vehicle, testing and development of its hydrogen-electric counterpart continues apace.

Four Tevva engineers: Charlie Cordell, Byron Dolman, Ryan Clark and Toby Hurst were doing exactly that recently, with a ‘range test’ of Tevva’s dual-energy prototype truck.

The Little Car Company, in partnership with Ferrari, has launched a special edition of the Ferrari Testa Rossa J to further celebrate the racing history of the marque. The Ferrari Testa Rossa J is a fully electric 75% scale reproduction of the legendary 250 Testa Rossa, which powered Ferrari to Le Mans glory three times.

The rate of growth in electric vehicle ownership has fallen for the fourth consecutive quarter as the cost of living and higher electricity costs has taken its toll, according to official DoT data analysed by car leasing comparison website LeaseLoco.

The latest Department of Transport (DoT) and DVLA (Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency) electric vehicle registration figures published this week, reveal that private BEV (battery electric vehicle) registrations across the UK increased just 9.8% between Q2 2022 and Q3 2022.
