Popeyes UK, the home of Louisiana fried chicken, officially opened the doors to its brand-new drive-thru restaurant in Tyseley at 11am this morning.
Continuing its rollout of successful launches across the West Midlands, Popeyes Tyseley marks the latest opening, joining the recently opened Birmingham Fort and Wednesbury locations, which saw hundreds of fans queuing and wait times of up to 27 hours on launch day. The excitement continued in Tyseley this morning, as fans lined up from as early as 3AM to be the first to get a taste of the world-famous Popeyes Chicken Sandwich from the new restaurant on Battery Way.
Popeyes brought its signature New Orleans energy; kicking off the launch with a confetti cannon, ribbon cutting ceremony, and exclusive Popeyes merch giveaways that set the tone for another unforgettable opening day in the West Midlands. Daniyal was the first through the door, having queued since 3am on launch day, saying: “I’d read about the long queues at the Birmingham Fort opening, so I knew I had to get here early to be the first to try the Chicken Sandwich!”
Over in the drive-thru, the first customer there was attending his second Popeyes opening in Birmingham, adding: “I got to Birmingham Fort at 7:30am last week and the queue was already huge - so this time I wasn’t taking any chances.
“I arrived at 4am so I could make sure I was first in line!” Fried chicken fans can now get a taste of the full Popeyes menu from the new restaurant, including fan-favourites like the Chicken Sandwich, Tenders, and Signature Chicken Wraps in Classic, Spicy, and BBQ.
All of Popeyes chicken is halal and marinated for 12 hours in its signature blend of Louisiana seasoning, then hand-breaded and battered to deliver that world-famous ‘shatter crunch,’ complemented by tasty extras like Biscuits and Cajun Gravy. The new Saucin’ Boneless and Hot Wings range will also be available, featuring bold, New Orleans-inspired flavours: cheesy Garlic Parm, bold BBQ, and spicy Buffalo.
Each portion of the Saucin’ range features these iconic flavours over its iconic spicy Hot Wings or all-new boneless chicken breast pieces. Customers are urged to download the Popeyes UK app to access exclusive offers and limited-time promotions, which is available to download now.
