The Safer 6 campaign team are heading to West Bromwich, bringing a host of safety and crime prevention advice for local people. Sandwell Mayor Councillor Barbara Price will be attending the event to be held outside Poundland on the High Street, by Queen's Square shopping centre from 10.30am to 13.30pm.

Activities and services include: fire engine; chip pan fire demonstration; police car; free bike security marking; Sandwell Crime Prevention Panel bus - with community safety advice and freebies; Neighbourhoods Watch stall; Youth Bus; Eco Bus; trading standards; West Bromwich Youth Council; alcohol advice and support from Swanswell; West Bromwich Local.

Organisations work closely together day in, day out throughout the year to make Sandwell a safer, cleaner place.

The six-week campaign is all about targeting their efforts and providing extra reassurance during the darker nights, fireworks and bonfire season – a time when crime and anti-social behaviour can often rise.

Council, fire, police, health and probation services and voluntary organisations are taking part.
