Award-winning Sandford Orchards is celebrating British Cider Week with the launch of a new film which goes behind the scenes to discover the people, places and processes involved in making their authentic cider.
Barny Butterfield, Chief Cidermaker at Sandford Orchards comments: “We know that what we do at Sandford Orchards is pretty special.
“We are not like your average cider producer, but it is sometimes hard to encapsulate those differences. That's why we enlisted the help of award-winning brand storytelling agency Untold to help us articulate our story and let the viewers get under Sandford Orchards' skin.”
The new film tells the story of Barny, who grew up in a house set in an orchard, made his own cider because he preferred it to what was readily available and eventually turned his hobby into a business based in the UK's oldest working cider mill. The film captures the cider apples, grown in orchards planted in Devon's red soil and nurtured by local farmers.
It follows the apples to the mill where they are pressed and fermented by experienced cider makers who know just how and when to blend Sandford Orchards' very special ciders. The six-minute film, two minute version and series of nine reels are being launched this week and will appear over the coming months on social media and Youtube, as well as featuring on Sandford Orchards' new website.
