The fabulous Deer Park Country House Hotel's launch of its exquisite new Orangery went off with a bang. In true Deer Park style, Friday night saw their most extravagant event yet which ended with a remarkable fireworks display setting the sky above Weston alight. Nigel Wray, owner of both Saracens Rugby Club and the Deer Park Country House Hotel also made a special appearance.

The evening started with a Bollinger drinks reception followed by speeches from managing director, Mark Godfrey and owner, Nigel Wray. Nigel's speech had an apt ending with him quoting the great Louis B Mayer, “Do it big, do it right, give it class”, which perfectly sums up the Deer Park, which has become one of the go to venues in Devon.

Commenting on the event, Mark Godfrey says: “What a fabulous evening! The weather was faultless allowing our guests to enjoy our foody treasure hunt around our manicured grounds. Highlights of the trail included wood fired pizzas from our Dingley Dell clay ovens, Thatcher's Cider who were found in Snug, Good Game with their range of locally cured charcuterie and Westcountry Hog Roasts who flipped their mouth watering Venison Burgers on the croquet lawn” Mark continues: “A huge thank you goes to all the guests who attended to make it such a phenomenal evening and one which we shall certainly never forget.”

Musical entertainment for the evening was provided by Bruce Izzett and band and an acrobatic splendour by Goronwy Thom.
