Students seeking a unique hands-on tertiary education experience need look no further. The Singapore University of Technology and Design (SUTD) Open House is taking place from the 5th to the 6th March to find out more about the unique pedagogy. At the SUTD Open House, visitors can find out what SUTD has to offer through talks by the President as well as Heads of pillars/disciplines.

They can also get a feel of what life at SUTD is like through campus tours and sharing sessions with faculty members and students. The tour will also include visits to SUTD’s state-of-the-art fabrication laboratory, cohort classrooms, hostels and library, to name a few.

There will also be design workshops, which will give visitors some hands-on experience and insight into SUTD’s renowned Big-Design learning concept, through building/prototyping a skyscraper model. Various exhibition booths will also provide more information on the four academic pillars at SUTD, and its student exchange programmes to the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in the US, Zhejiang University (ZJU) in China and others.

There will also be information booths on the internship and career programmes students can apply for, as well as over 100 scholarships available for application. SUTD students can opt to apply for exchange programmes or take on an internship with over 600 local and overseas companies during their vacation.

During the Open House, SUTD students from different clubs and co-curricular activities, known as Fifth Row, will also be putting up performances and demonstrations for visitors to participate in and win prizes. The activities range from electric vehicle joy rides to flash mob dances by our students.
