A new food and music festival is coming to Solihull – and you won’t believe where it’s taking place. On Friday 30th June, from 10am-4pm, Care UK’s Blossomfield Grange, on Worcester Way, is set to hit the right note by setting mouths watering as it opens its doors to local people to visit a brand-new food and music festival – Blossfest.
The fun-filled festival comes as Blossomfield Grange celebrates Care Home Open Week, a national initiative that encourages care homes to open their doors and showcase what life in a care home is really like. The special event will see guests invited to enjoy street food from countries around the world, which has been prepared by the home’s Head Chef and local food sellers.
From fish and chips to curries and nachos, the festival will include something to tickle all taste buds – including a summer Pimms to enjoy in the home’s picnic area. Alongside their food of choice, guests can dance and sing-along to live entertainment from local performers, Andante and Ruby Ann, who will be performing a mixture of folk and classic pop songs from the 60s and 70s to get the party started.
Jo Hopkins, Director of Community Relations at Blossomfield Grange, said: “We’re planning to cook up a storm for the Solihull community and can’t wait to give fellow foodies a taste of festival life as we host our very first festival.
“Nutritious meals, tasty snacks and foodie celebrations are an important part of life here at Blossomfield Grange, and for older people and those living with dementia, mealtimes can help maintain a sense of routine and encourage residents to enjoy the simple pleasures in life. Our catering team is excited to serve up various types of food for all to enjoy as part of our Care Home Open Week celebrations.

The home has been configured into a series of neighbourhoods to help facilitate the creation of close-knit communities and encourage social interaction among the residents.
