Earlier this week, stars of Birmingham Hippodrome’s Dick Whittington took a break from their final week on stage to visit children and their families at Birmingham Children’s Hospital.

TV Doctor and presenter Dr Ranj who plays Spirit of the Bells, Birmingham favourite Doreen Tipton who stars as Dick Whittington’s companion Doreen the Cat and Andrew Ryan who plays Felicity Fitzwarren helped bring some of the magic of panto to the hospital’s patients and staff.

Miranda Williams, Head of Public Fundraising at Birmingham Children’s Hospital Charity, said: "We were so thrilled to welcome the cast of this year's panto to our hospital. To see them dressed in their vibrant character costumes brought lots of enjoyment to our kids and their families, and provided some distraction from their surroundings, which is so important, especially for any patients spending long periods of time in hospital."

With sets and costumes from The London Palladium, spectacular special effects and plenty of audience participation, Dick Whittington is the perfect chance for audiences to come together and share the magic of live theatre. The final performances of Dick Whittington take place at Birmingham Hippodrome until tomorrow (Sunday 29 January).
