Talented Performing Arts students from Walsall College are getting ready to showcase their talents with an adaption of popular Broadway musical 'Hairspray'. On Tuesday 9th and Wednesday 10th February in the college's theatre space, 'The Venue' at the Wisemore Campus, Level 2 and 3 Acting students will be staging evening performances of the all singing all dancing show.

Walsall College Performing Arts Lecturer and the show’s director, Sarah Morgan said: “The students have really enjoyed exploring and developing their musical theatre techniques in singing, acting and dancing for ‘Hairspray’. Being a ‘triple threat’ actor, skilled in all three areas, will give students an edge and boost their employment prospects in a competitive sector.

“They have worked hard in rehearsals and are looking forward to performing in front of a live audiences in The Venue. It will give them a taste of what it’s like for professional actors working in the industry.”

Level 3 student, Amy Nedeljkov, 17, who plays the lead role in the show, said: “I’m really excited about playing the character of Tracy as she’s a lot of fun and it’s a great story. It will give me a chance to showcase my talent and build up my experience of performing for an audience.”
