There is an information and recruitment session today (Tuesday February 9th) at 2pm at Bert Williams Leisure Centre, for unemployed residents interested in pursuing a careers working as lifeguards or fitness instructors to find out about a free and exciting programme.The Fast Track into WV Active Opportunities course will offer trainees the chance to gain nationally recognised qualifications.

The event is being held at Bert WIlliams Leisure Centre, Nettlefolds Way, Wolverhampton, Bilston, WV14 0EF

Participants will also benefit from practical work experience and, for those trainees who successfully complete the programme, there may be opportunities for work with WV Active.

Councillor John Reynolds, Cabinet Member for City Economy, said: “This is one of a number of Fast Track into employment courses the council and its partners are running.

“WV Active provides facilities for health and fitness activities across three excellent Wolverhampton venues – Central Baths, Bert Williams Leisure Centre and Aldersley Leisure Village.

“We are delighted to provide an opportunity for unemployed residents to train as lifeguards and fitness instructors leading to the possibility of employment with WV Active at our leisure centres through Yoo Recruit.”
