A new study has revealed the sexiest pundits in the Premier League, and a familiar yet surprising face tops the list.

With hundreds of games on our screens every season, we spend hours watching the experts analyse games, but who brings the sex appeal to the punditry table and has viewers hot under the collar when football should be the star attraction? The study by football betting tips, predictions and news site, Footy Accumulators, has ranked the most attractive male pundits and presenters on our screens this season using a beauty scanner tool, measuring their height and analysing negative online sentiment based on their punditry from Reddit to give them a score out of 20.

The scanner uses a scientific approach to facial symmetry and structure, as well as the golden ratio, to provide a beauty percentage. Crowned the sexiest pundit is TNT Sport’s Peter Crouch.

The former Liverpool and Stoke striker was given a beauty score of 7.39 out of 10 which makes him one of the most handsome. Crouchy is also the tallest pundit in the study (2.01 metres) and has the least amount of upvotes on negative comments about his punditry on Reddit in the past year (12). All of this gives the 43-year-old a score of 17.39 out of 20.

In second place is another pundit who frequents TNT, the former Rangers striker and manager Ally McCoist, with an attractiveness score of 16.12. McCoist has a beauty score of 7.42 and only has 13 negative upvotes on comments about him, only one more than Crouch. The Scot is one of the shortest in the study with his height measured at 1.78 metres, which hampered his overall score.

Taking the bronze medal for the most attractive pundit is Michael Dawson, who often appears on Sky Sports’ Soccer Saturday. The ex-Spurs defender has a score of 14.63, which is helped by his height of 1.88 metres, and his beauty score of 7.13.

Presenter Mark Chapman is in fourth place and scores 14.42. The 51-year-old has a golden ratio score of 8.22 and has just 80 negative upvotes from posts on Reddit. If Match of the Day wants its new presenter to be a bit of eye candy, then perhaps Chapman is the right choice?

Irishman Shay Given is in fifth spot with a score of 14.41, slightly behind Chapman. The BBC pundit scores 7.41 for looks and is 1.85 metres tall - some would say that makes him a keeper.

The sixth position is taken by Dion Dublin who has a golden ratio score of 7.54. Dublin has only 66 upvotes on negative comments about his punditry and is 1.88 metres tall. All of this means he scores 13.95 overall and explains why the BBC utilise him on daytime television too.

He is followed by Don Hutchison, who often appears on TNT Sport’s European coverage and scores 13.45. The 53-year-old was given a golden ratio score of 8.05.

Former England manager and Spurs legend Glenn Hoddle is in eighth. The oldest pundit in the whole study scores 13.1 overall and has a beauty score of 8.3. Care to share the skincare routine, Glenn?

Ninth place belongs to Joleon Lescott with a score of 13.06, thanks to being 1.9 metres tall and a golden ratio rating of 7.46. This is followed by Ashley Williams who is only just behind with a score of 13.04.

In last place in the study of 38 presenters and pundits and named the least attractive pundit is Roy Keane with a score of 9.59. The Irishman’s resting face of disgust saw him receive a golden ratio score of just 5.49.

His direct commentary style has a mixed reception with fans and saw 1,193 upvotes for negative comments about Keane. The pundit with the most negative comments online is Michael Owen, who has 5,173 upvotes on negative comments about him on Reddit in the past year, whilst the pundit with the highest golden ratio score was the handsome Tim Sherwood, who scored 8.85 for this factor.
