The Fair had a fantastic 40 stands on show to the young people at Willenhall E-Act Academy. About 500 students from the age of 13 to 18 attended the Your Future Careers Fair. This event was free to attend and gave young people a chance to meet a variety of further education providers, training providers, apprenticeship supporters and local businesses offering advice and guidance.

Your Future Careers Fairs is a government funded national project to deliver 250 events through Chambers of Commerce, attracting over 70,000 young people across England.

The aim of Your Future Careers Fairs is to inspire, enthuse and motivate young people aged 14-24, encouraging them to actively think about their future career progression, the employment options available to them and to make the most of their remaining time in education.

Kerry Collins, Kerry Collins Recruitment, commented: “I was delighted to be asked to attend the Careers Fair.  As an ex-pupil of what was then Willenhall Comprehensive School I saw it as an opportunity to show my appreciation for the fantastic education and experience I’d had there.  Over and above academic success, I was encouraged and supported by the teaching staff so that my confidence levels were high when I left – key to setting up my own business.

“The students were in turn enthusiastic and keen but nervous and I’m sure events such as the Careers Fair are essential to helping to steadily build this confidence.  I hope the pupils got as much out of it as I did.”

Black Country Chamber of Commerce would like to thank Willenhall E-Act Academy for their continued support of the Black Country Chamber and their passion to help young people with their future ambitions.
