A major milestone has been reached on HS2 with the first section of the 3.5-mile Bromford Tunnel linking Warwickshire and Birmingham now complete.

A four-day celebration of the 80th anniversary of VE Day began as commemorations marking 80 years since the end of World War II in Europe saw veterans join together to pay tribute to all those who served in the conflict and reflect on the values that they fought for.

As people got together to honour and pay tribute to the Second World War generation from across the UK and Commonwealth, through a series of national and local events and activities, King Charles delivered a speech to honour veterans at the VE Day concert at London's Horse Guards Parade at a concert, which featured performances from the likes of Fleur East, The Darkness, and Freya Ridings.

A star-studded field is set for the 45th edition of the London Marathon, with this year's event aiming to break the world record for the most finishers in a marathon.
