Iceland has the best seasons but winter is special with Northern Lights, fewer tourists, lower rates and more cultural life and arctic chill. Since September – through to mid-April - you may experience the Northern Lights (Aurora Borealis) along with the twilight. Many cultural and culinary festivals are hosted in autumn, winter and spring and it becomes the perfect opporunity to meet locals.

Reykjavik, the capital, is an inviting and intriguing city. It is surrounded by a fairytale-like countryside of volcanos, geysers and waterfalls which add to the amount of activities offered to visitors.

You can also enjoy a shopping trip in Reykjavik, going through nifty crafts shops along with Nordic designer stores. A trip to the Blue Lagoon, The Pearl, Videy Island and Whale Watching are some of the must-dos as well.
