This September why not do something different when it comes to swimming a Lake District lake and swim the full length of one? After all Long distance open water swimming isn't just about swimming around buoys in a loop– it's about the journey. After-all you haven't swum a lake until you have completed the full length of it!

Coniston End to End is such a swim… it's as much about discovering yourself as the surroundings you are immersed in. The route begins at the southern end of the lake and finishes on the north shore close to Monk Coniston hugging the shoreline along the way, covering a stunning 5.25miles of open water swimming heaven! Giving you the chance to take in the landscape and for that matter waterscape, which inspired both Ruskin and Ransome.

This year's swim is set to take place on Saturday 03 September, so there's still plenty of time to train. So why not get yourself signed up and make a weekend of it? There are still a few swim places left with Chillswim's charity partner FRANK Water, a charity that works with partners to increase access to safe drinking water, sanitation and hygiene.
