Black Country Radio is hosting a multicultural celebration event in Brierley Hill on Saturday 19 March.

The event, which runs from 10am-3pm will feature live entertainment, cookery demonstrations and will be broadcast throughout the day by Black Country Radio. The day is part of the Welcome Back campaign to encourage people back into town centres and support local businesses as the country emerges from the pandemic.

Councillor Simon Phipps, cabinet member for regeneration and enterprise, said: “These events are a positive, practical way for people to show their support for our town centres.

“This is the third event co-ordinated by Black Country Radio and is a multicultural event with cookery demonstration and live entertainment. The final mothers’ day event will be held in Halesowen on 26 March and I hope local people will visit their town centre to take part, have fun and show their support for local businesses.”

The Welcome Back Fund is providing councils across England a share of £56 million from the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) to support the safe return to high streets and help build back better from the pandemic.

The community radio station has organised a number of events in town centres across the borough including a multicultural event in Lye High Street on March 12. There will be a Mother’s Day event in Halesowen on March 26. All events run from 10am to 3pm.
