Music festival Wireless is heading for Haringey again, welcoming some of the industry’s biggest stars. The country’s premier urban festival is due to be held at Finsbury Park on the weekend of July 7 to 9, 2017, with headliners including The Weeknd, Chance the Rapper and Tottenham talent Skepta. The event has been approved by Haringey, subject to agreement from relevant authorities.

Last year Wireless raised money for local mental health charity Mind in Haringey who offered free massages and gave out wristbands to festival goers. In previous years Wireless has funded hundreds of thousands of pounds of upgrades at Finsbury Park, including refurbished ball courts and brighter, safer path lighting through the park to the track and gym area.

Cllr Peray Ahmet, Cabinet Member for Environment, said: “Wireless Festival is a celebration of some of the biggest acts in music and we are delighted Finsbury Park will play host to it again. The urban festival always showcases loads of local talent, and this year that includes Mercury Prize winner Skepta. Last year Wireless brought hundreds of thousands of pounds to Haringey for us to spend on park facilities our residents can enjoy. Wireless is a major cultural event and is a huge boost for Haringey and for London as a whole.”
