For seven out of ten Brits, picnics are the staple of a great British summer and, to celebrate National Picnic Week, convenience food specialists Pork Farms has released the results of a survey targeting British picnic lovers. The findings revealed that the majority of Brits would choose to enjoy a summer picnic in the Lake District, eat pork pies with chutney and would invite Cheryl Cole and Boris Johnson to join in with their picnic fun.

Though it is likely that Katie Hopkins will be left indoors this summer, as only 3% of respondents would prefer to enjoy her company.

Kim Burgess Head of Markets at Pork Farms said “The great British family summer picnic is an ideal opportunity to enjoy quality time together in the great outdoors. Nearly half of Brits identify the great British family picnic as an essential element of a summer day out and the majority of British families are planning at least three picnics this summer.

"As the traditional pork pie is one of the main ingredients of a successful picnic menu, we have made sure that all at Pork Farms are ready for this summer’s pork pie stampede."
