The Penny Farthing is now open, boasting an investment of over £300,000, which has transformed the well-loved family-friendly pub to feature a host of exciting upgrades.

The pub is introducing its innovative “Two Door Pub” concept, now offering a sports bar area and a separate family lounge, creating two distinct spaces: a lively bar for locals and a cosy, family-friendly lounge. Designed to cater to all occasions, The Penny Farthing brings the community together, offering guests the flexibility to enjoy their ideal experience, with no compromises.

The community hero, chosen to raise the first glass to mark the pub's opening, went to a much-loved resident, Jack Rawlinson. Jack was chosen by members of the pub’s community Facebook group.

Jack, who lives with autism, is a familiar and friendly face in the neighbourhood. Most afternoons, he can be found litter-picking around the pub, helping to keep the area clean for everyone. In appreciation of his efforts, the pub regularly provides him with complimentary refreshments.

To make the occasion even more special, the pub also contacted Coventry City FC, who arranged a small gesture in recognition of his support and community spirit. The newly updated bar area features large HD screens to keep guests entertained with all the latest sports action.

The space also features a dedicated darts area and pool table, allowing guests to challenge friends, enjoy some friendly competition, and soak up the lively atmosphere. The Penny Farthing is a dog-friendly locals' pub with a community feel.

Locals can now drop by for a pint and a bite to eat, celebrating unmissable moments in the heart of the community. The pub continues to serve its much-loved favourites alongside a special festive set menu, featuring Christmas classics such as traditional roast turkey and indulgent desserts like dark chocolate mint tart.

With gluten-free and vegan options available, there’s something for everyone to enjoy. Now open, the Penny Farthing will host a variety of events, such as:

  • Weekly Wednesday quiz on 26th November
  • Fun fortunes Sunday Night quiz on 30th November
  • Challenge Santa at pool on 11th December
  • Santa Paws Christmas dog walk on 14th December
