Streetfest, which took place on Saturday 17th and Sunday 18th June, with a donation of £1,000. Streetfest is an annual event which is part of the Ashbourne Festival that has been running for 24 years, and David Wilson Homes was one of this year’s four leading Streetfest event sponsors.

This year’s Streetfest saw roughly 5,000 people in attendance on both of the days, which accommodated free street entertainment from international performers. From 17th June to 2nd July the Ashbourne Festival also attracted big names from the world of art, science, literature, music, drama and comedy.

During the two weeks of the festival there was also the annual Summer Art Exhibition with contributions from invited and local artists; a dance and puppetry show from Autin Dance Theatre; a gospel choir and band; Derby-based Hot House music plus poetry and music in the garden at Offcote Grange as well as amateur dramatics from The Peakland Players. The final event to round off the two-week festival was Picnic in the Park, with performances by Hot House Jazz and Ukrainian band MBreeze.

Chris Walker, Chair of Ashbourne Arts Ltd, the company and charity that is responsible for the event, said: “The success of Ashbourne Festival relies on local sponsors, and we are very grateful for the generous support from David Wilson Homes which ensured that we had another excellent Streetfest, enjoyed by hundreds of people.” Sales Director at David Wilson Homes East Midlands, Rachael Harrison, said: "We are thrilled to be a part of the Ashbourne Festival and contribute to this eagerly awaited community event.

“Supporting the festival brings us great joy, knowing that we are playing a role in fostering community engagement and cultural celebration. It’s our pleasure to contribute to the success of this event and make a positive impact on the community we serve." The funds contributed by the developer went towards paying the Streetfest performers, as well as organising next year’s event. David Wilson Homes has recently sold all of its properties in Ashbourne at Ramblers’ Gate, a 213-home development off Old Derby Road. The housebuilder is also planning to launch a new development of homes in the town later this year.
