Qawwali maestros 'The Hussain Brothers' take centre stage to celebrate the 138th birthday of one of the subcontinent’s greatest 20th century poets Sir Allama Muhammad Iqbal!

With an impeccable musical pedigree stretching back five generations, 'The Hussain Brothers' debut at The Drum promises to be a truly memorable evening. This highly-talented troop of singers and instrumentalists will devote the entire evening to interpretations of the works of the great poet, philosopher and politician.

'The Hussain Brothers' can be relied on to present an emotionally moving, intellectually stimulating and spiritually uplifting Qawwali experience. The evening will include Iqbal’s most popular compositions, including the complete texts of “Shikwah” and “Jawab-e-Shikwah”. These two poems were published earlier this year in a new, contemporary English translation by ISRA Books and copies of this highly regarded translation by Professor M.S. Baqa, the great authority on the poet, will be on sale at the concert.

This evening of Sunday March 15, is a must for all Qawwali lovers and Iqbal connoisseurs - the Hussain Brother’s vocal mastery is an ecstatic experience not to be missed!
